Project #04
Regenerative Agriculture
Since ancient times, plants have been absorbing and fixing carbon dioxide through photosynthesis. Trees in forests and plants in farmland pass sugars to microorganisms in the soil, and in return receive water and nutrients to grow. By taking advantage of these natural ecosystems, regenerative agriculture restores soil health and greatly contributes to decarbonization in sustainable manner.
Regenerative Farming Network
In Hokkaido, the journey of regenerative agriculture has begun as a voluntary initiative by farmers. Since we joined the journey in 2024, we have been deepening our understanding on regenerative farming together with practitioners from all over the country, plus global network including American consultant (Understand AG) with over 15 years of experience.
Practice in our farm
Utilizing abandoned farmland, we are implementing various agricultural methods that utilize microorganisms and conducting scientific evaluations. We are growing vegetables with no-tillage and cover crop cultivation, fungal farming, no-dig method and visualizing soil conditions through soil carbon content and environmental DNA analysis. Above all, we enjoy the harvest and are grateful for Mother Earth.
